CERT The Fresno Citizen Corps Council is pleased to announce that Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will be offered to the public in a Thursday evening series beginning March 11th. The 20-hour course developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in cooperation with the Los Angeles Fire Department is designed to provide individuals with basic emergency response skills, particularly those that would be essential in the initial hours after a major disaster. The course is open to all residents of the city and county of Fresno who are at least 16 years of age. (Those under 18 require parental approval.) There is no fee and printed course materials will be provided, however, participants will be required to bring some personal protective equipment. A complete schedule is shown below.
