Women and Youth Emergency Management Stakeholder Update

On March 8th, in honor of International Women’s Day, FEMA hosted a multi-agency briefing on the work being done regarding issues that impact women and children during disasters and emergencies. The meeting was broadcast virtually from 9:00a.m. – 11:30a.m. Some of the topics suggested by FEMA and/or Stakeholders include:
- FEMA’s Children and Disasters Update
- DHS Blue Campaign on Human Trafficking Update
- Department of Education update on youth initiatives and emergency preparedness programs in schools
- Department of Health and Human Services Update on emergency preparedness for women and at-risk youth
- Department of Justice update on emergency preparedness plans for juvenile justice systems
