National Preparedness Month

For the past seven years September has been the annual National Preparedness Month (NPM). This awareness month, sponsored by the Ready Campaign, is held each September and encourages Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities. In 2010, NPM was supported by a record number of Coalition Members; 4859 joined last year’s Coalition, an 80% increase over 2009. Registration was open to all public and private sector organizations that agree to help Ready promote this preparedness message across the country in homes, schools, businesses, and communities.

NPM 2010 After Action Report

NPM 2010 focused on encouraging Americans to work together to take concrete actions toward emergency preparedness, and in particular, focus on making an emergency plan. We encouraged all Americans to join the readiness team and truly help themselves, their neighbors, and their communities to be Ready.

The NPM 2010 After Action Report highlights local, Territorial, State, and FEMA Regional efforts during the National Preparedness Month.  In addition to the report, three appendices are available for download.
