  12. The City of Burnsville sent two firefighter/paramedics to the National Fire Academy in 1999 to become CERT instructors. Since then, we have added four additional instructors. The City of Burnsville's goal is to hold two CERT classes every year. Students that have participated in our CERT program include citizens of Burnsville, employees of local businesses, block captains, ploice explorers, boy scouts, teachers and high school students. As of 2007, we have trained over 250 residents.
