CERT is a proud partner of Citizen Corps and the effort to have everyone in America prepare, train, and volunteer.
The City of Federal Way CERT program is administed through the City's Emergency Management Department and is offered at least twice per year using the recommended FEMA CERT course materials. Instruction is provided through professional expertise in the areas of emergency management, fire and rescue, law enforcement and emergency medical. The course currently includes 21 hours of classroom instruction with ample hands-on opportunities and concludes with a simulated disaster proficiency exercise. CERT graduates are encouraged to continue advancing emergency response skills through participation in the Community Action Team program.
