Brief Description: The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus-Allegany Region Emergency Support (CCARES) Citizen Corps Council has Community Emergency Response Teams, a Volunteers in Police Service unit, and a Medical Reserve Corps to support disaster response in the western Southern Tier of New York. Brief Description: Stueben County is a large rural county located in Upstate New York. Because of the make up of our county we have been using the CERT Training as "General Emergency Preparedness Training" Program and have not used it to organize particular teams at this point. Some communities in the county have supported involvement in the course and use it to support Neighborhood Watch Teams.

Brief Description: The Greenburgh CERT meets once a month at the Greenburgh Town Hall. Each meeting training is conducted on different Emergency topics. Teams members have been called out to assist the Police, Fire and EMS with natural and man made emergencies. CERT members also assist the Police Department with community outreach and education on emergency preparedness and Crime Prevention. The Greenburgh CERT accepts new members all year round. The Basic CERT Course is offered twice a year.

Brief Description: The SUNY Oneonta program was created in the fall of 2010 in order to make sure that the SUNY Oneonta campus, as well as the City of Oneonta, has more people properly trained to respond to emergency situations. Within the first 72 hours of any major emergency, first responders become overwhelmed and resources become spread very thin. Brief Description: Rensselaer County CERT Team is a County asset that is over seen by Rensselaer County Public Safety. The Team is a diverse team that has also had the Red Cross Sheltering class and is available to open shelters in time of need. Brief Description: NYC CERT members undergo an intensive 10-week training program that provides basic response skills needed for fire safety, light search and rescue, community disaster support, disaster medical operations and traffic management.
