| Brief Description: | Jefferson Parish CERT offers Basic Training quarterly; once an individual completes the training they can join the Parish Team. The team meets on the third Saturday of each month for a Meeting/Training Session where we further our training in a variety of different topics. Our team competed in the 2010 State CERT Rodeo and won three ribbons in two different categories. The team recently assisted in an environmental project by placing recycled Christmas trees into the marsh to protect them. |

| Brief Description: | The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. | Brief Description: | We have completed three CERT Basic Trainings resulting in 24 members being trained for Terrebonne Parish. We also fully trained 8 members for our neighboring parish, St. Mary. Additionally, 15 people attended one or more training sessions but did not attend all 4 sessions required of a fully trained CERT member. Those that did not attend all 4 sessions have indicated that they will complete the training in the future. |
