Brief Description: The New Lenox CERT typically offers two Basic Courses per year. In addition to the Basic Course, our CERT trains at least once per month. Brief Description: Graduates of Chicago CERT training may become CERT volunteers and assist emergency services in the City of Chicago. Volunteers participate in drills & exercises, support local efforts after emergencies (e.g. H1N1 vaccine distribution and assiting Hurricane Katrina evacuee efforts), & provide logistical support for major special events. Brief Description: CERT provides outreach & first-aid at events, rehab to police, fire, public works and ESDA at emergencyies & also help with traffic control. We try to conduct two 21 hour CERT courses per year. CERT has searched for lost persons, distributed recovery info after a flood and staffed a call center during a heat related disaster. The program provided added training for members in CPR/AED, first-aid, traffic, storm spotting, search & rescue, NIMS & commuter train evacuation.

Brief Description: The Basic CERT Class runs one night a week for eight weeks and then one week end day. This class is usually on Tuesday Evenings. We have 70 active members. We do on going training once a quarter. IS-700, 100, 200 and CPR and Basic First-aid is required to be able to work at the Village's festivals with the CERT Team. The CERT team has answered Phones during a Boil Water Order, Worked with the Fire Department in floods/storms with debris removal and done traffic control to assist the Police.

Brief Description: CERTs are to be considered a component of the disaster response system and will supplement first responders during those critical first hours after a disaster strikes. CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. Through training, citizens can manage utilities and put out small fires; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely; and in times of disaster organize to protect themselves and others.

Brief Description: Palatine EMA has nearly 200 active volunteers. All volunteers are required to to take the in the classroom CERT training as well as IS100 and IS700 as a minimum standard. Brief Description: Carol Stream CERT is coordinated under the guidance of the Carol Stream Police Department. Brief Description: Our Plainfield CERT program has held annual CERT classes since 2005 and we have trained over 135 students in the basic CERT program. Our members have assisted the community in several areas including major flooding, searches for missing persons, and the operating of a warming shelter during the blizzard. Brief Description: Training is conducted quarterly in the evenings. Training locations vary throughout the year, they are held at one of the following locations; Police Department, Addison Fire Protection District and the HHRC Neighborhood Resource Center. At least one class annually is conducted in Spanish. CERT members that complete the training are part of the village emergency operation plan. Brief Description: Our CERT is multi-jurisdictional. We work with the Villages of Long Grove, Kildeer and Hawthorn Woods to provide an area wide response. This helps maximize our volunteers from all communities. We are proud of the cooperative team we have. Our team provides assistance to many of the community events that are put on in each of the towns. Brief Description: The FLFPD CERT provides residents/public safety professionals a quality resource for safety education/preparedness, hazard mitigation, emergency response assistance, and other volunteer efforts. Brief Description: After completion of the basic CERT course, particpants can become members of the Elgin CERT II Program. Members receive training once a month on disaster related topics and are available for callout from the police, fire, or neighboring communities. Our CERT II members have responded to missing children incidents, train derailments, severe weather incidents and flood evacuations. The CERT Team also provides assistance to the fire department during working fires by conducting rehab operations.
