Brief Description: Deer Springs CERT serves a rural area north of Escondido, CA. The Fire District serves 13,000 residents living in a 46 square mile area. Brief Description: EMS 102 is a 16 week 3 hour weekly class held in the spring and fall. The 1st 8 weeks students learn to recognize and react as Layperson responders in assisting victims of accidents or sudden illness. Students receive certification in AHA First Aid and CPR. The 2nd 8 weeks students study disaster preparedness, response, and recovery following the CERT curriculum. Brief Description: Teen CERT is taught in local high schools. Teen CERT students participate in school safety plans and exercises. Brief Description: Los Alamitos CERT is part of a larger group of the six west county cities known as West County CERT. We typically hold two basic classes a year with one in the spring and the other in the fall. The format for the classes is 2 Friday nights in a row followed by 2 all day Saturday classes. We have found that by reducing the number of training sessions, we have greater student retention. After completing the basic CERT class our students are invited to join our advanced CERT program.

Brief Description: Metro Fire was the first agency in the Sacramento Region to establish a CERT program in 2003 and continues to be a leader through its use of Professional Responders as subject matter experts during training modules and willingness to incorporate the CERT program into the emergency operations within the District. Brief Description: Moreno Valley CERT was formed in September 1998 to expand our cities' preparedness and response capabilities. Brief Description: HB CERT was formed in 1991 following a tornado that struck coastal residents. The City Police and Fire were heavily impacted and would have had been severely stretched had damage been more widespread. CERT graduates are trained to care for their family, their neighborhood, and then respond to help the City recover from emergencies. Brief Description: This is a very well trained active CERT program. It is run by capable volunteers under the supervision of the fire dept and has been incorporated into the operations of the Sacramento Fire Dept. Brief Description: Altadena hosts a basic CERT course about once per year. Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station hosts a basic CERT course at least once per year. Brief Description: This new court based CERT program will be a first for California’s court system. The program will provide CERT training to develop a cadre of employees who can assist in emergencies. Training will be offered in 1-2 hour blocks. Since training will be done to federal standards, participants will be eligible to join CERT teams at the cities of residence. To promote resilience throughout California’s courts, surrounding county court employees are eligible to attend this training.

Brief Description: Belmont CERT is a joint partnership of the Belmont Police and Fire Departments. It provides disaster preparedness training to the residents of Belmont and surrounding communities. After initial training CERT members hold regular meetings with members of Belmont and neighboring CERT Teams to maintain and improve skills. Belmont CERT assists the community in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
